Brief description
A synthetic phonics scheme designed mainly for struggling and disaffected teenagers and making no assumptions about their levels of reading and spelling, which are assessed from zero at the start. The scheme has early levels which rehearse the basics of word recognition and spelling, but only those who struggle go through these levels in detail; those who can move ahead fast do so, and later levels tackle the advanced code. Tutors receive 2 days’ training, and a manual and CD with copious materials
